A CIJ printer prints codes on containers at line speed. It is used for batch codes and dates. The printer is selected to the substrate and code requirement.
A continuous inkjet printer marks variable codes on packaging as it moves on the line. Typical codes are date, time, batch, serial number, barcode and QR code. The printhead does not touch the product, and ink reaches the printhead through a hose.
The product page lists a small character continuous inkjet printer, a gear pump continuous inkjet printer and a continuous inkjet printer. Their dimensions, voltage, character height, print distance, number of lines and print speed are listed in the specifications on that page.
Ink colours are black, blue, red and yellow. The printhead hose is 3 m, and up to 6 m on request, which helps when the printer cabinet must stand away from the conveyor.
A CIJ printer uses ink. A laser marking machine marks without ink or solvent and the mark is permanent. The choice depends on the packaging material, the code and how the line runs; both are covered in their own guides.
Send the packaging material, the code content, the character height you need, the line speed, the distance from the printhead to the product, and the site power. Other requirements are confirmed on the written quotation.
